F5 - A NEW MILLENNIUM, A NEW BEGINNING!
F5 is the most devastating tornado on the fujita scale, which registers Tornado destruction impact on a scale of 1 -5, with winds over 350 miles per hour.

F5 is also the new name of the equally devastating project of former Eye of the Storm (NY) progeny, Chris Rifkin and the addition of new vocalist Leann Serao.

With a new singer, a new name, and a new direction (heavier, more ambient and stronger song-writing), F5 brings new hope to those who tire of the bland song stylings and lack of dynamics of the host of 90's alternative and garage rock bands. And what better time to introduce a more dramatic and innovative style of music than the millennium.

The most obvious musical change in the F5 project is the vocal prowess of Leann Serao. Her soaring, emotion-tinged voice lends a certain mystic and dreamy quality to the crushing melodic song structures of F5. With her stunning looks and melodies, Leann certainly adds a whole separate dimension that few bands in the hard rock and metal genre can match. Her voice takes on an interestingly complimentary style within the workings of the mature song-writing machine of Chris Rifkins F5 project.

Entitled DAWN OF A NEW AGE, with an intended late March release, this project also continues in the melodic, ambient metal direction of his previous Eye of the Storm CD, at once maintaining the beauty and new age atmosphere, while adding dimensions of aggressive and heavy tones to the harmonic mix. The songs flow from heavy grooves to dreamy interludes and cover the bases in-between, while improving upon the lightning quick and tasty lead guitar of Chris.

The first song for airplay contention is "Inspired Kingdom", currently being showcased on WBAB Fingers Metal Shop, WSOU (89.5) in NJ, 881. WCWP-Radio, and WKZQ (101.7, Myrtle Beach, SC) which has been in re-release as an album primer for months now. This song is the epitome of the aggressive and atmospheric direction of F5.

The upcoming song "You Don't Know Me" is the perfect lead-off track to encapsulate what F5 is all about. It showcases some of the influences of the band (Fear Factory, Kitaro, Enigma, Sade, and Enya) and features Mickey James from the L.I. Superstar band, Earth Eatz Dog, on 5-string fretless bass. This song will be heard on Fingers Metal Shop and WKZQ and can be heard soon in MP3 format right here, just follow the soon-to-be-posted links.

In the very near future, look for this site to be expanded to include more MP3's, and an in-depth profile on the band (Chris and Leann) and information on how to purchase the CD.

There is still room within the current music scene for a group of individuals who value substance and style as being exclusive to music with meaning, virtuosity and dynamics. In this post-grunge era, F5 is just the band to take a chance and take a few steps forward.
